Picnesday - Feeling Chinese

If you're Chinese, it's very likely you'll be celebrating Chinese New Year this Monday.

Here are just some of the things we've done to feel all Chinese again.

Raising the red lanterns.

My hubby insisted we made our house look more Chinesey.

Frankly, it looks more like the red-light district, literally.

Filling up ang pows with money.

We try to look on the bright side with giving out ang pows -

The more you give, the more you receive.

A little trivia: Ang pows are only given to unmarried people.
Did you know it's the year of the Dragon this year?
Yeah, it is.
Apparently a good year to get married and have Dragon babies.

Pussy willow saying it makes me feel dirty decorating.

As you can see, it's filled with a hodgepodge of things -

homemade ang pow lanterns, homemade paper peonies and my son's arts n crafts from school.

Hodgepodge schmodgepodge,

as long as the Little Empress is happy with it.

Since I will be busy going around collecting ang pows
for my kids next week,
Picnesday will be on Chinese New Year leave next Wednesday.
